Mokuyokai is pleased to introduce Mr. Ashok Mathur from Statistics Canada as the speaker for the upcoming Brown Bug Lunch on Wednesday October 20th.

Mr. Mathur will be sharing a presentation on "The Japanese Community in BC - Selected findings of the 2006 Census".

  • We'll look at select findings about the Japanese community, from the 2006 Census, such as:
  • Which 2 provinces in Canada have the largest Japanese population?
  • According to one estimate, how much would the Japanese population of BC be in 2031?
  • Which city in Metro Vancouver had the highest concentration of Japanese?
  • What percentage of Japanese in BC were under 15 years of age?
  • In BC, how many Japanese men were there for every 100 Japanese women?
  • What occupations were the most common among Japanese workers in BC? And so on.
