Hike and trail cleanup at Mundy Park in Coquitlam. Sat, May 12 (11-3:30pm)

*Update May 7th, 2012: a few spots remain*

Join us for a special hike! We're going to give back something to the trails we often use and love. This time, in addition to hiking, we're going to clean up some of the trash that other hikers have left behind.

Some of you have been to beautiful Mundy Park in Coquitlam. For those who haven't, it is mostly a large second grown wilderness park containing several kilometers of trails and two lakes. The park is quite clean and the public trails are well maintained.

What is less known is that there are many kilometers of hidden back trails that need some clean up as the park staff do not go there. The trails are made by mountain bikers. Lead by Mokuyokai Board member David, we're going to hike these trails. On the trails we will watch for, and pick up garbage. We will also watch for Douglas squirrels, trillium flowers, and other wild and plantlife.

After the hike, we'll go to Original Joe's Pub for something to eat and drink.
