Hike up Mt. Gardner on Bowen Island: Saturday, June 9th

*Update June 2nd: we're going to take the Express Bus to Horseshoe Bay. The meetup place is W. Georgia and Burrard in front of Christ Church Cathedral at 8:30am*

Join us for a hike up Mt. Gardner on beautiful Bowen Island for a commanding view of the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver and Burrard Inlet. If you haven't visited Bowen Island before (once called the Coney Island of the West) this is a great chance! We'll meet downtown and bus to Horseshoe Bay; from Horseshoe Bay we'll take the ferry to Snug Cove at Bowen Island and then walk to the trail head. After the hike, we'll visit
some of the cafes and stores in Snug Cove before taking the ferry back home. Given the transportation to Bowen Island, this makes for a full day and please note the transportation costs. The hike itself is long with some steep bits... but well worth it!

When: Saturday, June 9th (8:30am-7pm)
Meetup Location: W. Georgia and Burrard in front of Christ Church Cathedral Vancouver Tourism Info Center (300 Burrard Street. Corner of Burrard St. and Waterfront Road) at 8:30am (sharp).
What to bring: Proper footwear (as the trail is steep in parts), lunch, camera, sunscreen, snacks, camera, min 1.5L water, warm and weatherproof jacket, cash. The weather can change quickly – even if the weather is sunny and warm in Vancouver, it can be cool and windy atop Mt. Gardner, so please prepare accordingly. We are not stopping for food along the way and Mokuyokai reserves the right to turn away unprepared participants.
