Introductory Taiko (Japanese drums) Workshop on Sun, June 3rd at South Arm Community Centre (Richmond)

*Update June 2nd: two spots remain for tomorrow; if you are interested please rsvp to president@mokuyokai.bc.ca*

You've seen it, heard it, and now is the time for you to experience and learn it! Vancouver is the birthplace of Taiko in Canada, which is why Mokuyokai Society is thrilled to announce its first Taiko workshop. Get ready to sync your love for Canada and Japan to the beats of the Taiko drums. This event will be jointly hosted by Mokuyokai, JETAABC and Tetsu Taiko.

For those who are not familiar with Taiko, it's traditional Japanese drumming. The workshop will introduce people to the basics of Taiko drumming. There will be a background on the drums, the history of Taiko, a Q&A session, and most importantly lots of hands on drumming! This will be a great group activity and a nice opportunity to meet other people as there will be a total of 25 participants. However, only 10 spots will be available for Mokuyokai members and non-members, so RSVP as quickly as possible.
Still not sure what Taiko is? Here's a promo video of Tetsu Taiko from last year:
