Kayaking at Deep Cove on Saturday, May 28th

Have you ever wondered what kayaking is like? Now try to imagine gliding your kayak along the water in Deep cove, which is renown for it's beautiful natural sceneries. On Saturday,May 28, you will have an special opportunity to experience this, as group of us will attempt make round trip between Deep Cove and Twin island.  Don't know how kayak?  No problem, as one our Mokyuokai member, Kenny Yamanaka, who is also an experienced kayaker, will teach and show you all the basic kayaking techniques. 
 
When: Saturday, May 28; 1:30 to 4:30pm (3 hours)   
Location: Deep Cove Rental Centre, Beach front location:
Maximum # of Participants: 10
Meetup Location: Vancouver Tourism Info Center at 12pm (sharp) (200 Burrard Street. Corner of Burrard St. and West Cordova).
 
What to bring: Please bring Lunch and dress warmly.
 
Cost(s):
1) $37.53 (tax included) per person for 3 hours of Kayaking.
2) Mokuyokai Fees (note: this fee helps cover our insurance)
Members: None
JET Alumni Association: $5
Non-Members: $10
 
Car Pooling
We will arrange car-pooling from Vancouver Tourism Info Centre. It works on a first come, first serve basis (i.e., if someone RSVPs and can drive 3 people, the first three people who signed up get a lift.) Please give your driver some money for gas and their time (you can decide a fair amount with your driver.)
 
Drivers are usually in short supply, so if you can drive, it will be much appreciated.
RSVP to Ben Leung (hike@mokuyokai.bc.ca) by 6pm on Wednesday, May 25. Note: RSVPs made after the deadline will not be accepted. If you have to cancel, please do so in good time (i.e., please do not cancel the day of the event), as a lot of work goes into organizing outdoor events and there is often a waiting list.

This event is weather dependent. If there is heavy rain, it will be cancelled. If the event is cancelled, an email will go out to participants the night before the event.
